Marist college now boasts state-of-the-art learning areas with specialised facilities and a large lecture theatre for their senior year students and staff. Designed with science laboratories in mind, the two-storey building was awarded best new educational Facility, Australasia for 2018.
Vicbeam are pleased to be able to supply GL18 Vic Ash Hardwood beams for The Truss Joint who fabricated and assembled these trusses. Housed on the ground floor are architectural trusses that look impressive from every angle of the classroom.
The trusses relate to black steel plates and bolts that help supports the roof and structure of the building. Assembled, they feature boldly from the dark coloured timber texture. Each truss spans up to 12 metres and are installed unified on-site, making the space feel compact and scaled down.
This is a well-thought out building with smart use of spacious areas that are designed for flexibility. Such spacious environment help balance out the classroom from those large trusses which dominates from the top view.
