The new Melton Health & Community Service Centre have opened its doors to the residence of Melton and Bacchus Marsh community providing high quality community health, mental health and family services under the one roof. Vicbeam was approached by CICG builders to provide several glulam trusses made of GL18 Vic Ash Hardwood fabricated and assembled with steel plates and bolted connections.
It’s a two-storey building that is spacious enough to fit five collaborative organisations with an assembly of the glulam trusses spanning 10.2 metres and 8.8 metres across the ceiling. Its Cutek – White Wash coat blends with the white surroundings and compliments the steel plates that were custom painted to match the neutral tones of the interiors.
In addition to the workshop drawings done by Vicbeam, these glulam trusses were prefabricated and assembled in-house, making the process of on-site installation much smoother. The result is staggering considering the scale of the project, which required months of hard work and dedication by the team.
