A new standalone building allocated alongside the existing York On Lilydale Hotel has been completed with an impressive array of timber and trusses made of GL18 Vic Ash hardwood. The inclusion of timber looks magnificent inside the new sports bar and casual dining space.
The theme of timber is ever present throughout the new extension. Upon entry, we see an inspiring display of timber cladding that provides an aura of dark timber texture. Equally inspiring are the large double chord trusses that features prominently in the two separate spaces.
Vicbeam provided two types of trusses designed to suit both spaces but are made of the same species and connections. The two styles of trusses provided were the common and sawtooth styled truss.
Each truss was made with 2/65mm beams which were doubled up and connected with 16mm steel plates in-between. Once assembled they create a timber structure known as a double chord truss. Vicbeam provided a total of 10 double chord trusses connected with steel plates and with a group of exposed black M24 bolts.
Lighting equipment’s with black coloured finishes resonates well with the truss’s bolts and together, they help add touches of industrial detailing to the overall interiors of both dining rooms. These black features compliments with the hardwood that’s been coated with two layers of Intergrain Natural stain – Walnut.
All timber members were cut to size, drilled and fabricated with holes, in-house assembled and delivered for on-site. These magnificent trusses were well worth the hard work and dedication from all involved and Vicbeam are proud to have been part of this project.
