Vicbeam collaborated closely with the owner of this bespoke residence in Middle Dural to bring a long-envisioned architectural vision to life. Glulam (Glue-Laminated Timber) homes are a rare and distinctive presence in Australia, with few examples showcasing their full potential.

Much like The Croft House  —a landmark project that demonstrated Glulam’s ability to enhance architectural expression and set a precedent for design innovation—this Middle Dural residence takes a similarly transformative approach. By pushing the boundaries of Glulam’s application, it is poised to redefine its role in the evolution of contemporary architecture.

Clients today increasingly seek a subtle, hidden connection aesthetic that creates a seamless flow of timber throughout the design. Achieving this connectionless look can be done in various ways, many of which are cost-effective.

The GLT Glulam Portals support a striking triangular ceiling lined with wooden panels, while floor-to-ceiling glass enhances the seamless indoor-outdoor connection, allowing natural light to flood the space.

A combination of Tasbeam 15 GLT Columns and Rafters, glass, and contemporary furnishings creates a warm, sophisticated atmosphere that balances comfort and elegance.
