The Peninsula Hot Springs is a relaxing getaway retreat for anyone who is keen to experience award-winning day spas, bathes and wellness activities along the Mornington Peninsula. The complex caters to your needs with its variety of treatments, bookings and packages including luxurious stays and dining experiences.
Vicbeam are proud to have delivered GL10 White Cypress Glulam timber beams to an upgrade and expansion project that consisted of an additional new Café, Ice Cave and Snow Room, Wet and Dry Saunas and New Reception and Amenities Building. All buildings were designed to the nature theme of the Peninsula Hot Springs. The project required Vicbeam to provide rafters and purlins for their new roofing structure. All varied members of GLT (Glue Laminated Timber) were cut to size, drilled with holes and slots and delivered on-site.
The glue laminated timber beams provide structure to a group of hexagonal roof buildings connected to a central tree that fits into the theme of nature. This theme is continued through to the change rooms, where warm timbers and stained ply provides colours that resonate with the natural landscape. The interiors are greatly enhanced by GL10 White Cypress which compliments the earthy tones of Rammed Earth walls and ceramic tiles.
GL10 White Cypress timbers have a creamy-white band of sapwood which contrasts wonderfully with the heartwood colours ranging from honey and clay through to tight knots of dark chocolate. The timber produces a strikingly decorative effect on the exposed faces seen at the Peninsula Hot Springs.
The Peninsula Hot Springs is another great example of GLT providing a stunning combination of structural support with a beautiful finish.
