Melbourne Zoo – Predator Precinct

GL18 Victorian Ash Glulam beam ‘Trees’ a roaring success.

Vicbeam were pleased to be able to provide the GL18 Vic Ash Hardwood Glulam Beams for the Melbourne Zoo.

The ‘tree trunks’ comprise of 10 glue laminated beams all cut and spliced together which opens up into a canopy that supports the roof structure.

From under the glulam canopy, the public can view magnificent animals such as the African lions, wild dogs and the Philippine Crocodile.

We were delighted to hear that the project received a special commendation for ‘Excellence in Civil construction’ by the Master Builders of Victoria and we congratulate Lloyd group on their fantastic work.
