A Victorian style residence has been re-developed into an art deco inspired home, displaying some fantastic curved glulam beams designed by Mihaly Slocombe architects and built by Basis Builders.
Vicbeam supplied GL13 Radiata Pine, H3 treated and manufactured with curve features. Each glulam member finishes at a 1500mm radius curve and installed on-site with splice connections from posts to rafters. In between are white timber purlins assembled to support the pergolas clear acrylic roofing.
With an overlay of white paint, all timber members contrast superbly from the timber decking and aligns well with the home’s semi-circular roof, a unique feature that is well presented in and outside the home.
Along with a brick feature wall, natural timber is displayed seamlessly throughout the interiors and onto a timber decked pergola. All of which have been architectural designed to combine and match to the layout of the home.
