380 St Kilda Rd

Vicbeam was proud to contribute to the transformation of 380 St Kilda Road, supplying GL13 Grandis H3 GLT’s for the rooftop pergola and associated timber structures. 

Located on Level 8, the rooftop terrace delivers approximately 1,500m² of premium outdoor amenity, transforming the space into a landscaped retreat with panoramic views across Melbourne and the Royal Botanic Gardens. The pergola forms a central architectural feature, providing shade while enhancing the natural character of the rooftop environment. 

Working closely with Building Engineering, Vicbeam manufactured and fabricated the 400x175mm GL13 Grandis glulam pergola beams, combining the natural warmth of hardwood timber with the structural performance required for a prominent commercial installation. 

Each member was precision fabricated with counterbored holes to accommodate the concealed steel plate connections. The timber was then finished with Cutek Eco protective coating to provide long-term weather protection and enhance durability while retaining the natural character of the Grandis. 

The project showcases the versatility of GL13 Grandis and its ability to deliver both structural performance and a high-quality architectural finish.
